Pedlar Day

Join us at the Church of St Peter & St Paul, Swaffham, for a celebration of the town’s famous legend – John Chapman, the Swaffham Pedlar.

From 10am – 2pm, enjoy a lively programme of music, workshops, storytelling, and family activities. Highlights include performances by Chanter’s Jigge with medieval instruments, the story of the Pedlar narrated by Stephen Fry, and a rare chance to see the historic Black Book of Swaffham on display for the first time in over 30 years.

Throughout the day, there will be opportunities to take part in craft workshops, children’s activities, and to meet the Pedlar and his wife. Refreshments will also be available.

This free event is a wonderful way to step back in time and discover more about Swaffham’s history – perfect for all ages.
