In 2017, we produced a special edition of KL magazine that celebrated the area’s rich tradition of food production and consumption; the people who grow it and brew it, the people who cook it and serve it, and the people who continue to strengthen Norfolk’s reputation as one of the best dining out locations in the whole country.
We thought it was a great idea, and everyone agreed. Readers loved visiting new places to eat and discovering the wealth of fantastic food on our doorsteps. Chefs appreciated the opportunity to share some of their favourite recipes. Restaurants, hotels, pubs, cafes and tearooms loved being able to thank existing customers and extend a warm welcome to new ones. And visitors to the county found it a fascinating way to take a culinary tour of Norfolk.
One of the most common responses we received was a request to make it a regular publication, and with so many new places to enjoy and so many up-and-coming chefs to discover it was a request we couldn't resist.
It's obviously been a very challenging year for our hospitality industry, and it needs our support more than ever - which makes this edition of Dining Out in Norfolk even more special.
By encouraging people to visit local restaurants, pubs, tearooms and cafes and by promoting local produce we can make a real difference to our county.
We can reduce our food miles and packaging. We can help maintain and safeguard varieties and ingredients unique to Norfolk. And we can help all the food-based industries that have such a massive impact on our local economy.
